 Touring Italy

Touring ItalyItaly is one of the most well loved places in Europe. It is one of the countries where its culture, history, places, landscapes, villages, buildings and many others are most admired world wide.

To see the beauty of the places in Italy, one of the best ways is through bicycling. There are these roads that are designated for bicycles. These are bicycle routes for those who would like to get around the city or just simply leisurely enjoying the view. The best time to do bicycling is on the spring and autumn seasons. On the summer months, it would be too hot to get around the places and you wouldn’t be enjoying your bicycle tour. On the winter months it is not advisable also; it would be too cold to do bicycling.

You can start bicycling at these places; you can start at Piedmont, you will be amazed by the breathtaking views of the vineyards, you will find few of the famous wines worldwide, the Asti and the Barolo, You can also marvel at the different kinds of landscapes that Piedmont has and also its architectural sites, some Roman ruins, castles and many more. In Liguria, you can find there the Riviera dei Fiori. This place will give you some spectacular views especially if you will go trekking or cycling at the Imperia’s hinterland where you can find some historical sites. You can also go to the Ligurian Alps and appreciate its flora and fauna and if lucky enough you can see some wildlife like foxes, hares, wild boars, eagles and many more on the area. In Lombardy, you can enjoy cycling here for it is one of the largest areas in Italy. It has a large number of places to see and explore through bicycling. You can find here lakes along the hills of the Alps and the views of the mountains. It will be ideal to go to one of its natural parks, the Valle del Ticino Park, where you can just leisurely cycle in the woods and along the river. You can go to the historical places that is scattered in this region. They have numerous monuments, castles, villas, churches, palaces and abbeys. However in Veneto, you can go around its villages, hills, lagoons and villas that that was designed by the famous architect Palladio. This is also the old cycling place in Italy. There are numerous routes for cycling around the area. You will surely enjoy the long cycling rides and at the same time marvel at its views.

These are just some of the places that you can do cycling around Italy. There are plenty of places that have tracks or routes for those who would want to tour Italy by bicycles. This is a unique way to experience and see the places first hand.

If cycling is a bit active for you (thoughbear in mind it’s a great way to burn off the pizza excesses!), consider car hire or motorbike hire…the lazy traveller’s option! choose your area of travel wisely - somewhere with great open roads and lots to see! Say you were going to Spain, Andalucia woudl be a great option - you could start in Malaga (take on option such as Malaga care hire for example) and go on to see magnificent cities such as Granada and Sevilla!). Back to Italy, the most popular region for this type of road trip holiday would be the beautifully lushcious Northern region…Just don’t forget your music and sandwiches for along the way!

The Flowers of spring are Blossoming in Italy

The Flowers of spring are Blossoming in ItalyJUST like their counterparts in virtually all parts of the world, elementary, high school and college students here in Italy also have their allocated one-week spring break here. For students coming in from the United States and Spain, you can spend one quality vacation here in Italy. Do witness the different native flowers here blossom in various colors throughout the season. Being a Mediterranean country, there are nice flowers, trees and plants thriving here in Italy. Among others, there are dwarf palms, myrtles, laurels, junipers, corks, holm oaks and evergreens existing here.

Spring in 2008 also coincides with the Lenten season for the Christians. And for the many people here in Italy who are predominantly Catholic (Rome is its headquarters); this is also a time for many pilgrims all over the world who will deluge on this country. And that translates to many euros flooding the Italian economy via air fare, hotel stays, food, shopping sales and other secondary earnings caused by the religious tourists.

As spring ushers in this year, one piece of good news that has developed is the recovery all over Europe of stolen Italian artifacts such as goblets and Pompeiian vases. These artifacts were found in Brussels, Geneva and Milan due to a painstaking investigation conducted by the Italian police. With the recovery of the artifacts, many archaeological buffs are expected to go to Italy to view these artifacts once more in their rightful display place – the museum. Another artifact – in the field of architectural sculpture – will rise in Florence thanks largely to Michigan native Jason Arkles who designs the statue of St. Mark in a church in that city.

The government of caretaker Prime Minister Romano Prodi has not collapsed despite his decision to resign pending someone to relieve him. His Cabinet has remained intact and the tourism ministry of Spain has worked hand in hand with its central bank to monitor the economy given the assumption of an impending recession in the United States. With close guidance from the European Union central bank, the central bank of Italy is giving the go-ahead for the merger of small banks in the country so that they can together forge a stronger banking system to counter possible repercussions of an impending recession across the Atlantic in the United States. Banks expected to merge are Sanpaolo and Intessa as well as Capitalia and UniCredit. Meanwhile, Milan’s very own Banca Popolare di Milano is scouting for partners.
