 Some Updates about Italy

null

ITALY always has robust economy thanks to three sectors – tourism, real estate and education. Italy has always been a tourism magnet because of its rich history. This has where the Romans of old before Christ have set up their headquarters and when the Romans were conquered by Christendom, Italy was also a witness to that. Modern Rome may not be as invincible as the olden one but Christianity’s azimuth is always felt here. In fact, Italy is host to the world’s smallest nation, the Vatican, which is incidentally also the headquarters of the Catholic Church. Tourists would also like to visit ruins of the Colosseum.

Then there is the fashion center of Milan which is also a hub not just for tourists but also for fashion enthusiasts as well. Aside from Milan, there is also the port city of Venice which is known the world over for two records – this is the only city sitting on a lagoon and this is also the only city in the world where vehicles are not allowed to enter. Tourists would also want to visit Italy to taste the wine there and make themselves available for several winery tours. They are also there to taste authentic Italian food. Italian food is said to be the healthiest in the world because it is made of rich Mediterranean cuisine which is mostly fresh seafood sautéed with olive oil which is the only non-saturate fat cooking oil in the world and therefore the healthiest. And because of a very booming tourism industry in Italy, the real estate business is booming there. One can find properties anywhere from Rome to Tuscany.

And foreigners would also like to go to Italy to learn the local language there. After all, Italian is said to be the most romantic language in the world because of its etymology alone which is Roman. When one learns the Italian language in Italy, the student is immersed to a host family. There are three stages in learning the language – beginners, intermediate and advanced. Each of the three stages takes six calendar months to complete. Once the student has accomplished fulfilling all the three stages, he or she is already qualified to teach Italian in his or her home country.

The lessons are so rigid that sessions are held in the morning and in the afternoon. However, sessions in the afternoon do end early at 3 p.m. so students can have time to imbibe the lessons to them. Anyway, they will be helped out by the host families who will generously tutor the students. The host family will guide the students to crowded areas around the city where they are staying and exhort them to make out most of the Italian conversations.

One indicator that Italy’s economy is booming is the number of car registrations for 2006 have surpassed those of 2005 from 2.30 million to 2.48 million. These cars are owned and driven not just by Italians but even by foreigners because aliens are allowed to purchase cars here. They can own luxury units like those made by Ferrari and Lamborghini.
